THE MARSHALL RATING SYSTEM-COMPUTER RATING SYSTEM

This paper describes the background need for, and the development of, a highway maintenance rating system by the city engineers' group, Marshall Report Sub-Group from experience gained in applying the Marshall Report recommendations. The system proposed is simple in its conception and easy to apply thus keeping technical staff requirements to a minimum while giving results of sufficient accuracy to meet present needs. A computer printout provides a priority list in engineers' language, clearly indicating the sections of greatest need with an option to output preliminary costing and resources. /Author/
