WITH POLLUTION IN MIND--A BUOY TRACKING SYSTEM FOR WATER MOVEMENT SURVEYS
The prototype buoy used for sea trials to study marine pollution is described. The electronics equipment is housed in the small upper self-buoyant package which may be removed from the spar buoy and attached to a parachute drogue or other assembly. The tracking unit is common to all applications but the arrangement is made flexible to accommodate the wide range of buoys in use and proposed for surveying.
