INVESTIGATION OF THE TURBULENT FLOW STRUCTURE IN THE INLET SECTIONS OF SMOOTH AND ROUGH PIPES
The results of an experimental study of the structure of the flow turbulence in the inlet sections of smooth and rough pipes are presented. The distribution of average velocities, the mean-square values of the longitudinal and transverse components of the velocity fluctuations and the moments of correlation are measured. Based on the test data, a solution is found for the problem of turbulent flow in short tubes (inlet sections) by the boundary-layer method.
