街路空間整備を通じた交通安全対策に関する地域住民の意識構造

Road space re-allocation measures for traffic safety have attracted attention recently. In Europe, measures including Shared Space have been implemented. Recent reports have described their effects on traffic safety. However, in Japan, few case examples of measures have been reported. Therefore, little is known about effects on residents' consciousness associated with these measures. The authors therefore made a vehicle speed survey and a questionnaire survey at Shinmon-dori Street, where a road space re-allocation for traffic calming had been implemented. This paper applies covariance structure analysis to analyzed causal relationship between drivers, pedestrians and street, and clarifies these causal relationships on shared street.近年、街路空間整備を通じた交通安全対策が注目されつつあり、欧州においてはShared Spaceをはじめとしてその適用が進められるとともに，評価もなされてきている。しかしながら我が国においては、このような整備による交通安全への適用はほとんど見られず、対策に関する地域住民の意識は十分には明らかにされていない。そこで本研究では、実際に街路空間整備が行われた神門通りを対象として、自動車走行速度調査並びにアンケート調査を実施し、街路空間整備を通じた交通安全対策に関する地域住民の意識構造について検討した。その結果、ドライバーや歩行者の意識行動変化に関するメカニズムが明らかになるとともに、心理的評価に基づく整備効果を高める上で重要となってくる整備対象や領域が明らかになっている。
