TTX NOW BIGGEST NON-RAILROAD CAR OWNER

The record pace at which it has been purchasing flat cars over the past year in order to keep up with the breathtaking growth of piggyback, automobile and other flat car traffic has suddenly catapulted Trailer Train into the number one spot among the nation's non-railroad rail car owners. At the end of July, TTX ownership stood at 63,767 cars including 3,288 added to the fleet this year. Another 4,560 cars are on order with deliveries stretching into the first quarter of 1974.
