Demonstration of Regional-Traffic-Information Feedback System for Promoting Environmentally Conscious and Efficient Traffic-Related Behavior

In this study, the authors develop a system to promote more environmentally conscious traffic-related behavior of citizens by providing easy-to-understand regional traffic information (RTI) and raising their awareness of factors affecting CO2 emission. The RTI includes traffic conditions and the amount of CO2 emission into the air, which change with time and location. In this paper, the results and discussion of a preliminary demonstration carried out with the aim of testing the operation of the system are reported. In addition, the authors plan for implementing the main demonstration and the method to evaluate the efficacy of the system in the main demonstration are reported.
