Data Collection: Affordable Real-Time Traffic Adaptive Control

Traffic adaptive control systems have been implemented with limited success over the past 30 years as a way to deal with increasing pressures of traffic congestion. Existing traffic adaptive systems employ a combination of technologies and algorithms in an effort to increase efficiency. These efforts have been limited by the data used to populate the models and measure their success. A new generation of traffic sensor is now available which provides a new a more comprehensive view of network flow and health.
