An Application Platform for Electric Vehicle Route Planning

Electric vehicles emit no greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide, and the widespread use of them is expected to contribute to reduce global warming. But the limitations of current electric vehicles prevent their wide spread use. The authors attempt to make up for the limitations through the use of intelligent transportation systems (ITS), and the authors hence develop an application platform for electric vehicle route planning. Its functions are helpful enough for people to reduce their uneasy feeling about the limitation, which feeling removes their mental obstacles to use electric vehicles, and thereby it will contribute to realize the widespread use of electric vehicles and consequent sustainable society.
