Hospital charges associated with motorcycle crash factors: a quantile regression analysis

In this study, the authors use multivariable quantile regression analysis to examine the association between helmet use and other crash factors and hospital charges for motorcyclists involved in crashes. Non-medically treated motorcyclists were evaluated to adjust for the effect of helmet use and crash factors on reducing medical treatment needs. The authors' findings showed an association between motorcycle helmet usage and reduced hospital charges, and they conclude that quantile regression comprehensively describes associations between crash factors and hospital charges..
