COMPREHENSIVE ADVICE ON MOORING FROM RESEARCH ASSOCIATION

The report of United Kingdon Chamber of Shipping on mooring methods in existing tankers and bulkcarriers and the requirements for new tanker and bulkcarrier tonnage is summarized. The major conclusions are given with regard to-use of wire or fiber ropes, automatic winches, the mooring operation, the mooring plan, and mooring patterns.
