Mapping Oklahoma City’s Success

Oklahoma City is an example of a city that has moved to secure investment to support its forthcoming streetcar systems, as planning work continues. Its Metropolitan Area Projects Plan (MAPS), which started in 1993, was a development initiative that resulted in the construction of many facilities; however, the city was left lacking a way to efficiently connect them. One component of the solution (known as MAPS 3) emerged as a modern downtown streetcar. The system was agreed upon by the Oklahoma City Council in September 2013 and is expected to be completed by 2017.
