Teaching tomorrow’s managers today

The American Association of Railroad Superintendents (AARS) works to develop the next generation of managers in the railroad industry. This topic will be the subject of sessions at the AARS annual meeting in September. The issue of institutional knowledge is important for the industry, and it is important to find new managers who can learn from older experienced veterans in order to develop their professional skills. The industry must be prepared to change, accepting new managers with technological skills and implementing productive communication. Current managers must be on the lookout for new talent. AARS looks for ways to keep the conversation about management going outside of the yearly meeting.
