Commentary: Medical Transportation in an Era of Change

While there was a time when medical transportation tended to be thought of as an access issue by community and public transit professionals, today the services are more than just that. Services, such as dialysis, play an essential role in what's known now as disease management and are incredibly demanding. The transit director of Ki Bois Area Transit in Oklahoma discusses the ongoing, regular transportation that serves as far more than mere access and that is required in order to serve their community, as well as financial challenges they face and needs for the future.
