Technology optimizes airport property revenue management

In today's technology-centric business environment, property and revenue management solutions are myriad; yet, while many address the needs of multiple industries, airports benefit from a specialized solution, due to their complex business processes and requirements. A number of airport departments can utilize airport-specific technology, including contract management, billing, and accountability. The case of Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) is presented, as an example of a large airport, and this article takes a look at its experience with a property and revenue management system. Also examined is Southwest Florida International Airport (a medium airport) and its use of property and revenue management software, as well as Northwest Florida Regional Airport (a small airport) and their use of a hosted version of an airport-specific property management and revenue system, which allows the use of system functionality without infrastructure on-site.
