A Dynamic Traffic Zone Division Scheme
A dynamic traffic zone division scheme based on a mean-shift algorithm is proposed in this article to overcome the defects such as complex computation, poor flexibility and hardness in reflecting internal characteristics of traffic flow that exist in traditional static traffic zone division methods. The mean-shift algorithm is used to draw sections of the road that have high traffic flow similarities together and form a zone for traffic guidance purposes. The algorithm is also significant for control-oriented zone research because of their similarities. A simulation and an evaluation method are also presented in the article.
