Automatic operation finally arrives in Budapest

In March 2014 the opening of Budapest's fourth metro line was celebrated - an event that was 42 years in the making with numerous delays and disappointments along the way. Also known as the green line, it includes 10 stations and two existing Hungarian State Railways (MAV) stations. When the manual operation test period ends, the line will be switched to automatic operation, possibly by the end of 2014. Future plans for expansion are discussed here, as well as the impact it will have in the present.
