HIGHWAYS PLAY ROLE IN INDUSTRIAL PARK

CONSTRUCTION OF FOUR-LANE LIMITED-ACCESS HIGHWAYS TO PROVIDE BETTER CONNECTION BETWEEN BINGHAMTON AND THE REST OF THE STATE PLAYED A MAJOR ROLE IN THE ONGOING TRANSFORMATION OF SEVERAL HUNDRED ACRES OF FARMLAND FIVE MILES EAST OF THE CITY INTO AN ATTRACTIVE AND SUCCESSFUL INDUSTRIAL PARK. THE BINGHAMTON, BROOM COUNTY INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT COUNCILS OBTAINED THE SUPPORT OF MANY NEW YORK STATE AGENCIES, THE BUREAU OF PUBLIC ROADS, AND INDUSTRY TO CONSTRUCT THIS INDUSTRIAL PARK. THE PROJECT HAS ALREADY BROUGHT NEW CONSTRUCTION AND NEW FACTORY JOBS INTO THE BINGHAMTON AREA, AND THERE IS PROMISE OF MORE TO COME. VARIOUS INDUSTRIES LOCATING THERE ARE DESCRIBED AND DISCUSSED.
