Division Method of Urban Non-Motorized Traffic Analysis Zone

The non-motorized traffic analysis zone is the region where there is a high intensity of non-motorized activities (such as walking and bicycling), and most of the activities will be completed in this region. This paper studies the characteristics of urban pedestrians and cyclists, respectively, at the micro and macro levels. The study includes the non-motorized cellular zone and non-motorized traffic analysis zone. Firstly, the boundaries of the non-motorized cellular zone are determined on urban secondary roads. Then, depending on the residents' characteristics and demands, this paper quantizes the intensity of the non-motorized cellular zones by establishing production and an attraction intensity model between any two non-motorized cellular zones with different trip purposes based on the gravity model. Thirdly, urban non-motorized traffic analysis zones are obtained using the non-motorized cellular zones' fusion method based on non-motorized cellular zones' location and intensity matrixes. Finally, the scientific method for the non-motorized traffic planning system based on the non-motorized traffic analysis zone is presented.
