Calculation Model on Maximum Number of Assembling Passengers in Railway Passenger Hub Based on Queuing Theory

The maximum number of assembling passengers is an important index for the design and operation of a railway passenger hub. On the basis of the characteristics and defects of existing methods, a relatively accurate passenger arrival distribution was achieved using the actual assembling and dissipating process of passengers and the differences of passenger wait time for different types of trains. By applying queuing theory, intensive analysis was made on passengers' queuing process at the entrance where the tickets are checked. Next, the expectation in the transient state of the system was discussed under the circumstances of different passenger assembling and dissipating rates. Last, the calculation model on the maximum number of assembling passengers was put forward. The instance analysis and comparison with existing methods prove that the calculation results of the model conform to the facts and have a higher accuracy.
