AMERICAN CITY: A FORECAST

THIS ARTICLE SURVEYS THE CHANGING ATTITUDES WHICH WILL FORM THE CITY OF THE FUTURE. THE CITY WILL BE VIEWED AS A CONTINUALLY SELF-RECYCLING SYSTEM; UTILITIES AND TRANSPORTATION SYSTEMS WILL BE CONCEIVED OF LESS AS SERVICES FOR THE EXISTING URBAN STRUCTURE, AND MORE AS THE BACKBONE AND FORM-GIVERS OF THE CITY-TO-BE. THE VALUE-INCREASES THAT A TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM CREATES IN THE COMMUNITY MUST BE RECOGNIZED AND USED TO FINANCE THE SYSTEM ITSELF. /AUTHOR/
