Monitoring the Quality of Driving Liquid Fuels available on the Market in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Monitoring kvalitete pogonskih tekucih goriva prisutnih na trzistu u Bosni i Hercegovini

Quality control of liquid fuels in Bosnia and Herzegovina (B&H) will be conducted on the basis of the Decision on the quality of liquid fuels adopted by the Council of Ministers of B&H. Intentions of each country should be integration into the European mainstream in order to facilitate its position in the future process of joining the European Union (EU). Approaching the flows of the EU should ensure the harmonization of legislation with European directives. The quality of products today for each refinery is the basic requirement for the survival on the market , especially in the EU. Therefore, the development of oil refining in B&H must go in the direction of achieving quality in the EU taken over by other European countries as well. In this complex problem it is a fact more and more sophisticated vehicles are arriving on the European market including Bosnia and Herzegovina and they simply do not tolerate the fuels with past characteristics, first of all due to the technological solutions of the vehicles that reduce the air pollution emissions. The Government of the Federation of B&H adopted the Regulation on the types, content and quality of biofuels in fuels for motor vehicles. According to Regulation the biofuels include bioethanol, biodiesel, biogas, biomethanol, biodimetiletar, bio-ETBE (ethyl tertiary - butyl ether), bio-MTBE (methyl tertiary butyl ether), synthetic biofuels, biohydrogen and pure vegetable oil. The petroleum products imported and/ or placed on the market of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina must meet the quality requirements for liquefied petroleum gas which have been planned in the draft of the LAW ON PETROLEUM PRODUCTS IN THE FEDERATION OF BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA which are of commercial quality found in DIN 51622 “Liquefied gas propane, propylene, butane, butene and their mixtures” or in the national standard of Bosnia and Herzegovina LPG for use in automobiles BAS EN 589:2011.
