Methodology for Identification of Sources of Particulate Matter and Street Dust by Statistical Methods: Methodology of Research Results Application

Metodika identifikace zdroju pevnych castic a poulicniho prachu statistickymi metodami: Metodika uplatneni vysledku vyzkumu

The basic problem for the assessment of air quality regarding particulate matter is a difficult quantification of the distribution of individual sources of this pollution. In most cases the most important unknown factor is the quantification of particle resuspension, despite the fact that it is often the most intensive source of particulate matter in so-called dry periods. Therefore, this methodology was produced to contribute to finding the most suitable procedures to estimate shares of individual sources, including resuspension, on the basis of measuring chemical composition of particulate matter and street dust. The methodology describes the procedure for quantifying individual sources of air pollution by particulate matter and street dust with the use of statistical methods and receptor modelling.
