CALIFORNIA TRANSPORTATION PLANNING STUDY FUNDED BY HUD

A GRANT HAS BEEN MADE TO THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA TO IMPROVE THE STATE AGENCY STRUCTURE AND POLICY FOR FACILITATING AND IMPLEMENTING COMPREHENSIVE URBAN TRANSPORTATION PLANNING. THE BASIC OBJECTIVE OF THE PROGRAM IS TO DEVELOP AND DISSEMINATE NEW KNOWLEDGE AND NEW TECHNIQUES TO IMPROVE COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING. THE PROJECT WILL INCLUDE THE DEVELOPMENT OF A FRAMEWORK FOR EVALUATION OF RESOURCE ALLOCATION FOR ALTERNATIVE URBAN TRANSPORTATION SYSTEMS. THE PROJECT IS EXPECTED TO PRODUCE A PROTOTYPE POLICY AND STRUCTURE WHICH CAN BE APPLIED TO PROBLEMS AND DEMANDS OF THE LEVEL OF COMPLEXITY FOUND IN CALIFORNIA AND OTHER LARGE STATES.
