NOISE POLLUTION AND THE LAW. NOISE AND THE LAW

The legal principles and cases discussed here are "the Restatement of the Law of Torts," causes for the issuance of injunctions, Richards V. Washington Terminal, Constitutional takings, Causby v. United States, Griggs v. County of Allegheny, the English Law, Hemmersmith & City Ry. v. Brand, applicable parts of state constitutions, Bennett v. Long Island R.R., Thornburg v. Port of Portland, and Martin v. Port of Seattle. This is the first attempt to draw together on a broad scale the cases dealing with the scope of the immunity of the government and government-authorized entities from legal action for objectionable noises or other nuisances.
