Investigation of the Effect of Mass Super Structure in Reaction Single Micropile under Dynamic Loading

Micropiles are the piles with small diameter which are used increasingly in recent years because of easier installation and less material than piles, while they provide targeted performance. This article focuses on finite element modeling of micropiles under dynamic loading, where mass concentrated is under consideration variable which is located in the central part above the micropile in order to stimulate the mass of superstructure and influence of inertial force. Numerical analysis has been performed by ABAQUS 3D finite element modeling software. Then, the performance of micropile - including lateral displacement and micropile bending moment - are investigated according to the mass super structure change under dynamic conditions. The environment of isotropic soil was considered by elastic behavior and implicit method has been used under dynamic conditions. Performed studies indicate that bending moment and lateral displacement of micropiles increase with the increase of mass super structure.
