METHOD FOR CALCULATING THE DERAILMENT SAFETY OF RAIL VEHICLES

EIN VERFAHREN ZUR BERECHNUNG DER ENIGLEISUNGSSICHERHEIT VON SCHIENENFAHRZEUGEN

A simplified method which does not require the use of a computer is proposed for determining the derailment safety of rail vehicles, in particular cog railroad cars. The first part of the study deals with general assumptions of the calculations, the motion states occurring in all vehicles and with external loads experienced by the vehicles. The second part deals with the derailment safety of adhesion type vehicles, the effects taking place in a single car or several cars coupled into a train. The third part treats the effects occurring only in driven or braked cog railway cars; the results obtained are superposed on those of the second part. Practical calculations are presented.
