TRIP GENERATION TECHNIQUES

METHODS OF TRIP END ESTIMATION CURRENTLY AVAILABLE TO THE TRANSPORTATION PLANNER ARE PRESENTED. THE IMPORTANCE OF ACCURATE TRIP END FORECASTS IS EMPHASIZED. THE TECHNIQUES DISCUSSED IN DETAIL ARE LEAST-SQUARES ZONAL REGRESSION, LEAST-SQUARES HOUSEHOLD REGRESSION, AND CATEGORY ANALYSIS.
