Go with the Flow
Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) Railway Company is currently experiencing growth. Construction of new headquarters is underway in Texas, and BNSF is expanding its workforce. New intermodal facilities and logistics centers have opened or are under construction, and a growing crude-oil market has led supply-chain services to advance. The crude-oil market and demand for domestic intermodal transport have provided opportunities for railways to expand their services. BNSF’s traffic has grown, and infrastructure and equipment have been upgraded to accommodate it. Multi-use facilities allow many supply-chain constituents to be gathered in a single location, and BNSF hopes to establish more of these facilities across the network. The railway has grown over the last few years, and executives expect to see it grow further.
