GUIDED TRANSPORT

RAILWAY GUIDED TRANSPORT USING TRACKS FOR /1/ SUPPORT, /2/ GUIDANCE, /3/ REACTION FOR TRACTION AND BRAKING, AND /4/ COMMUNICATION, IS PROPOSED. THE ECONOMIC FACTORS OF SHORTAGE OF SPACE AND INCREASING WAGE RATES RECOMMENDS THIS SYSTEM WHICH OCCUPIES A LIMITED AREA AND CAN OPERATE AUTOMATICALLY. VEHICLE SUSPENSION MUST LIMIT THE DYNAMIC RESPONSE OF THE VEHICLE TO TRACK IRREGULATITES WITHIN THAT WHICH CAN BE TOLERATED BY THE PASSENGER. AIR-CUSHIONED VEHICLES APPEAR TO BE THE ANSWER, BUT IT REMAINS TO BE DEMONSTRATED THAT THE AIR-CUSHION CAN ALWAYS BE RELIED UPON TO EVEN OUT THE EFFECT OF TRACK IRREGULARITIES WITHOUT OBJECTIONABLE OSCILLATIONS.
