Optimization of Transport Costs by Using Linear Programming

Linear programming is a special case of mathematical programming in which the objective function is linear and the constraints are expressed in the form of linear equations and/or non-equations. One of the first problems formulated in terms of linear programming is the transportation problem. This paper analyzes the application of linear programming to solve the optimization problem of transport costs of bricks in Croatian Railways. In solving the optimization problem of transport costs, the software IOR Tutorial is used.
