Shift from car city to soft movement modes : mobility policy in Lyon

Omslag van autostad naar zachte verplaatsingsmodi : het mobiliteitsbeleid in Lyon

The car-oriented French city of Lyon underwent a drastic metamorphosis in the last two decades : trams, high-quality trolleybuses and share bicycles increasingly dominate the cityscape. The use of public transport today, is the highest in France, after Paris. The local government finances and determines the auto-inhibitory traffic policy, coupled with drastic city renewal. This successful policy can inspire mobility planners and public transport companies in Brussels and Flanders.
