HAWAII HOUSE BILL NO. 1789-72
The State Department of Health is empowered to promulgate regulations pertaining to noise control. Motor vehicles are prohibited from emitting noise levels in excess of 85 db at a distance of 20 feet from the vehicle or greater. Residential noise violations are defined with reference to time intervals of five minutes of noise in any sixty minute interval for certain times of day and for certain days of the week. Any violator may be fined up to $500.
