ON CALCULATION OF THE CHARACTERISTIC FREQUENCIES OF FLUID FILLED SPHERICAL SHELLS
The results of this paper can be used for calculation of the characteristics frequencies of the spherical LNG tank of the Moss Rosenberg system. Some actual spherical LNG tanks may require more precise calculations done by the finite element method combined with a "close fit" description of the fluid. Because calculations of this kind are time consuming and expensive the simple formulae derived here for upper and lower bonds of the characteristic frequencies are of valuable help when constructing LNG tanks and when choosing machinery and propellers for the ship.
