SRCH: A HEADLAMP RESEARCH PROGRAM FOR THE EXTRA POLATION INTERPOLATION OF SURFACE VALUES FROM A PREDEFINED GRID

This report discusses the SRCH program, which permits the location of points on a grid surface, the interpolation of surface values at points within a defined grid, and the extrapolation of surface values at points outside this grid. It consists of three principal routines: the main program, which acts as a driver and test vehicle, subroutine INPUT, which obtains the grid surface data, and subroutine SEARCH, which performs the actual search of the grid. Execution of the SRCH program entails the definition of the job libraries containing the program modules necessary for the task and of each of the data sets referenced during the course of the program execution. Appendices are included which present the source listing for the program and a sample execution of the program. The program is written in Fortran for the IBM 360/67 TSS computer at the NRC and utilizes the contour plotting package developed at DEMR.
