The business of sustainable development in railway

Sustainable development has become increasingly important for the world and for companies to support. Progress rail has fully embraced sustainable development and it is core to the company long term success. Our business model is based on improving the recycling of railway cars, locomotives, track and components. Effective management of the depleted railway assets provides both an opportunity for improving our sustainable development but also provides value for customers and profit for companies that promote it. Use of advanced recovery methods allows more material can be reused proving railway operators with lower operating costs while contributing to sustainable development. Fewer natural resources and energy are expended in remanufacture than what is consumed in the original manufacturing process. A fully integrated model has been developed for both locomotive and railcar and for engineering and track work that ensures the highest level of component reuse. In addition to the traditional wagon and rail recycling we will review some new approaches to locomotive modernization which will enhance customer value and promote sustainability.
