RESISTANCE OF SHIPS AS A SUM OF HAT-GRAPHS
The idea is that the resistance graphs can be made by adding hat-graphs. The size of each hat is depending on the longitudinal coefficients, of beam/length and draught/length ratios. Longitudinal center of buoyancy has an indirect influence through the use of the longitudinal coefficients of forebody and afterbody. A computer program is described, and calculated values are made to agree with 'Series 60' of Naval Ship Research and Development Center.
