BULK LIQUID CHEMICALS. TRANSPORT SPIN OFF FROM A GROWTH INDUSTRY
Some of the current trends and possible pitfalls in sea shipment of chemicals by tanker are reviewed. Current investment in the specialized and very sophisticated tonnage is summarized in the light of the growth of the chemical industry. Details are given for precautions to be taken, the human element, and crew safety. Problems of port regulations and the lack of rules for safe operating practices are discussed.
