FINANCE AND ROAD 1972

The report is the outcome of a joint study by the British Road Federation and the British Industry Roads Campaign and is presented under six headings: (1) The need for better roads, (2) Roads in towns and cities, (3) The road program today, (4) Prospects for the 1970s, (5) Local authority funds for roads, and (6) Road track costs and motor taxation. The financing of British roads is looked at in the light of the EEC discussions on a common policy on the way in which transport infrastructure is financed. The basic principles of the present proposals are given in a final section of the report. /TRRL/
