MAGNETIC SUSPENSION FOR TRACK-BOUND VEHICLES
MAGNETISCHES SCHWEBEN IM SPURGEBUNDENEN LANDVERKEHR
New types of magnetically guided vehicles permit an increase in mean travelling speeds. After describing possible magnet systems, the author state the maximum speeds of various magnet cushion vehicles as indicated by preliminary investigations, and compares the data with those of rail vehicles. Weight considerations will make it necessary to arrange the active parts of the electrical drive equipment in the track at speeds above 400 km/h.
