NEUE ANWENDUNGEN DER LEISTUNGSLEKTRONIK AUF SCHIENENGEBUNDENEN WERKBAHN-UND ARBEITS-TRIEBFAHRZEUGEN

A description is given of various applications of power electronics on trolley-wire and multi-system locomotives using standard static converters. The combination of control electronics and brushless three-phase a.c. generators offers economically attractive solutions for diesel-electric locomotives. The results obtained in respect of operation, reliability and overall efficiency have been excellent in all cases.
