SHORT-DISTANCE PUBLIC TRANSPORT AND THE TASKS AHEAD
DIE SITUATION DES OEFFENTLICHEN NAHVERKERS UND DIE AUFGABEN FUER DIE ZUKUNFT
Public transport must be so improved that it offers a genuine alternative to private transport. The organizational and technical means are available: motors with higher outputs, semi-automatic and fully automatic controls and modern systems for heating, lighting and passenger handling. The minimizing of labor costs for operation and maintenance is a demand of the immediate future. New short-link-conveying systems will provide a valuable supplement to existing transport systems.
