AIR QUALITY-JOINT FREEWAY-MASS TRANSIT CORRIDOR PROJECT ON INTERSTATE ROUTE 580 AND STATE ROUTE 238 IN ALAMEDA COUNTY

THIS QUANTITATIVE AIR QUALITY IMPACT REPORT FOR PROPOSED ROUTE 580 IN ALAMEDA COUNTY DISCUSSES THE MATHEMATICAL ANALYSIS IN ASSESSING THE IMPACT OF ROUTE 580 IN THE IMMEDIATE AREA OF THE PROJECT AND IN THE ADJACENT AREA OF THE LIVERMORE-AMADOR VALLEY. A MESOSCALE ANALYSIS WAS MADE TO ESTIMATE THE TOTAL POLLUTANT LOADS FOR CARBON MONOXIDE AND HYDROCARBONS WITHIN THE STUDY AREA FROM 1975 TO 1990. A MICROSCALE ANALYSIS WAS MADE TO ESTIMATE THE CARBON MONOXIDE CONCENTRATION WITH THE HIGHWAY CORRIDOR. THIS ANALYSIS WAS MADE USING A HIGHWAY LINE SOURCE DISPERSION MODEL.
