FLOW CAUSED BY SEA MOVEMENT AND ITS SIGNIFICANCE IN THE DETERMINATION OF SHIPS POSITION

The sea wave was described, expressed in mathematical terms taking into consideration the relations between wave height and wave length. The movement of water particles in the course of sea movement was investigated and the dependence of the movement of the water particles on depth was characterized. The data obtained on the basis of these considerations permitted the approximation of the flow component. The relations between this flow and depth were utilized to calculate the displacement caused in the ships position by sea movement.
