COMING REVOLUTION IN AUTOMOBILE TRANSPORT
Out of sight, out of mind-of vandals, that is. This seems to be the way that the railroads' transportation of new automobiles is going. More and more the movement of new vehicles is harking back to those big totally enclosed automobile transporters that Canadian National introduced in the late 1950s. General Motors, Ford, Chrysler and American Motors are all now looking at (and working with railroads to develop) totally enclosed rail cars.
