RIGHT-OF-WAY PROCEDURE IN MINNESOTA

THE ORGANIZATION AND BUDGET OF THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS ARE DESCRIBED. SINCE BY EMINENT DOMAIN ALL LANDS MAY BE MADE AVAILABLE FOR CONSTRUCTION USE UPON THE FILING OF A PETITION OF CONDEMNATION IN THE COUNTY IN WHICH THE LANDS ARE SITUATED, APPROXIMATELY 90 PERCENT OF THE LANDS ACQUIRED FOR TRUNK HIGHWAY PURPOSES IN MINNESOTA ARE ACQUIRED IN THIS MANNER. THE BALANCE ARE ACQUIRED BY DIRECT PURCHASE FROM THE OWNER. THE COMPOSITION AND ORGANIZATION OF THE LANDS AND RIGHT-OF-WAY DIVISION IS SPECIFICALLY DESCRIBED. PROCEDURES FOLLOWED IN ACQUIRING LAND FOR HIGHWAY USE BY CONDEMNATION OR PURCHASE ARE DESCRIBED.
