A Study on the Relationship between Street Structures, Pedestrian Behavior and Vehicle Speeds

住区内の単断面街路における自動車走行速度に街路空間並びに歩行者交通特性が及ぼす影響

In recent years, traffic safety measure using road space reallocation has attracted attention. In Europe, these measures including Shared Space have been implemented, and recent papers have shown effects on traffic safety. In Japan, these measures have been implemented as applicable and effective measures on narrow streets. However, little research has been conducted on traffic speed in these streets. This study made a survey of vehicle speeds, and analyzed the relationship between pedestrian behavior and traffic speed on shared streets. This study applies path analysis to analyzed causal relationship in complex system. The result shows that causal relationship on shared streets.近年、街路のしつらえやデザインを利用した道路空間を再構築することによる交通安全対策手法が注目を集めており、欧州ではShared Spaceをはじめとしてその交通安全上の効果が示されている。我が国においても、このような手法は歩道の設置が困難な狭幅員の単断面街路においても歩車を共存させるための有効な手段として広がりを見せつつある。しかしながら、空間配分について検討するための基礎的な知見となる歩車が混在する単断面街路における自動車走行速度についてはまだまだ明らかになっていない。そこで本研究では、岡山市内の歩車が混在する単断面街路において、自動車走行速度と歩行者交通に関する現地調査を行った。575台の自動車走行速度を計測し、街路空間とそこを走行する自動車交通並びに歩行者交通の関係について分析した。その結果、歩車混在時における単断面街路でのこれらの因果関係について明らかになっている。
