CODIFICATION OF HIGHWAY LAWS IS DISCUSSED IN NEBRASKA, MICHIGAN, NEW MEXICO, AND THE CITY OF WASHINGTON, D. C. CODIFICATION FORCES A CONSIDERATION OF HISTORY AND REVEALS THE VARIOUS WAYS IN WHICH LAW MAKERS DEAL WITH SOCIAL, ECONOMIC, AND POLITICAL PROBLEMS. CONFLICTING AND OBSOLETE LEGISLATION ARE REVEALED WHEN HIGHWAY LAWS IN ANY JURISDICTION ARE REVIEWED. WYOMING HAS RECENTLY PREPARED A MODEL MODERN HIGHWAY CODE. THE NEED FOR NEW CODIFICATION OF HIGHWAY LAW IN EACH COMMUNITY IS EMPHASIZED.
