FE-based Fatigue Life Prediction Techniques Considering Successive Fractures of Spot Welds

スポット溶接部の逐次破壊を考慮した疲労寿命予測手法

This paper presents FE-based fatigue life prediction techniques for spot-welded structures, considering fractures of welds. Procedures for FE analysis are decided as results of experiments carried out on single and multi-spot-welded joints. Beam elements representing spot welds judged fractured are removed. Proposed techniques were applied to evaluate fatigue life of actual automotive structures, a footrest assembly and a rear body installed trailer hitch. Accuracy of predicted life by proposed techniques was higher than that by conventional techniques that evaluate all spot welds fatigue lives with only once FE analysis.スポット溶接部の破壊を考慮した疲労寿命予測手法を提案した.実験による破壊挙動に基づいて,破壊したとみなす溶接部の取り扱い方法を決定し,CAE解析では破壊と判定した溶接部を順次取り除いた.本手法をフットレスト部およびトレーラヒッチ取付け部の疲労予測に適用した結果,予測精度の向上が認められた.
