BR HIGH DENSITY PROTOTYPE ELECTRIC MULTIPLE UNIT STOCK

The paper traces the development of the prototype British Railways electric suburban stock and describes the vehicles which have resulted. It concludes by making reference to the comprehensive test program which was undertaken. The design is suitable for ac electric or combustion engined applications.
