CEMENTATION OF ROCKS IN VIEW OF BUILDING UNDERGROUND AND HYDROTECHNICAL STRUCTURES

THERE HAS BEEN ELUCIDATED A POSSIBILITY OF OBTAINING DURABLE HYDROISOLATION ON THE BASIS OF CEMENT-GROUND MORTARS. THE LATTER HAVE BEEN SELECTED BY THEIR OPTIMUM DENSITY OF THE SOLID DISPERSION PHASE, PLASTIFICATION AND HYDROPHOBIZATION OF GROUND AND CEMENT MINERAL SURFACES BY INTRODUCING SURFACE-ACTIVE SUBSTANCES (SAS). THE CONTROLLING ROLE OF THE SAS ADDITIONS ON THE PACKING AND W/C RATIO CHARACTERISTICS OF CEMENT-GROUND MIXTURES HAS BEEN SHOWN. THE NECESSITY OF TAKING INTO ACCOUNT MINERALOGICAL COMPOSITION OF GROUND COMPONENT MIXTURES IS STRESSED. IN PARTICULAR THE POSITIVE ROLE OF KAOLINITE CLAY, GYPSUM AND CARBONATES. THERE HAVE BEEN OBTAINED MOBILE, SELF-LAYING AND SELF-PACKING MORTARS POSSESSING, WHEN IN A SOLID STATE, THE DURABILITY OF THE ORDER OF 150 KG/CMSQ AND FILTRATION RATIOS LESS THAN N. 1/10 TO THE 7TH CM/SEC. UNDER PRESSURES OF 3 ATM. AND MORE. THE APPLICATION OF THESE MORTARS IS POSSIBLE BOTH FOR FIXING FISSURED BEDROCKS WITH FISSURE OPENING OF 0.5 CM., AS WELL AS FOR OVER-PIPE AND OVER-TUBING SPACES OF UNDERGROUND STRUCTURES.
